Ahh, it feels SO GOOD to finally be able to finish a piece for myself. Especially when it turns out like this(!)
This is my best colored pencil job to date, though I can already see where I could improve next time. Churned out almost the whole colored piece on Thanksgiving yesterday... spent literally al day on it. My hand felt like a claw afterwards. >_< But it was worth it.
A very small portion of the top and a somewhat larger piece are cut off from the scanner. Not missing much though, just a bit of sky, and my signature.
Ooo... this is niiice... I thought this was done with pastel... wow!, the pencil work is very smooth...the shading is top-notch... it has a nice depth to it...the creature looks very soft... and beautiful lighting..
Well, because the creature is from your head in this image.. I can't lecture you on getting your anatomy right!... I can't find any huge gaping flaws in this image...
the one thing I could suggest is that this piece might look more ' solid ' if you used some darker shades in the background and around the creature to emphasize the light...even though it sounds like you spent ages on it and might want to just leave it because it's cool as it is..
So yeah, If you want.. you could balance the light with some darker stronger colours.
But it's choice where it's at!...
